In celebration of the upcoming Marijuana holiday known as 4/20, we bring you a strain with wonderful healing abilities. Today we review Harlequin, a medical strain known for it's excellent and unique CBD to THC ratio. CBD has numerous medicinal benefits and is also non-psychoactive (it doesn't make you high). To answer the question of, what is CBD and what is THC, you can learn all about them in our blog post here --> http://goo.gl/ueMX1C
This is a rare strain but it seems prevalent in the Washington area at both the recreational stores and the medical dispensaries. Using Leafly.com we found 15 locations which had Harlequin in stock.
Harlequin is not for smokers who are just looking to "get high" due to the low THC content of this plant. However, the higher levels of CBD and lower levels of THC, make it an excellent strain for pain. Harlequin is a Sativa dominate plant (75% Sativa, 25% Indica). Sativas produce a more energetic and clear minded high compared to the Indicas which can leave people feeling in the clouds or with "couch-lock".

Harlequin is a top first choice for treating most forms of pain because of its unique CBD to THC ratio, commonly at 5:2 ratio. There is a lot of hope and even some hype behind CBD research at the moment. Studies however, show that CBD by itself is less effective than when it is coupled with THC. They have a synergistic effect and scientists are working to pin-point the most effective ratio. Amongst Medical Marijuana patients and Seniors, the 5:2 ratio in Harlequin appears to display many benefits.
Some of the reported side-effects of this strain have included dry mouth, dry eyes, headache and in some cases anxiety. We commonly find that the onset of anxiety is a byproduct of new users feeling the beginnings of an altered state. Start slow and become comfortable with how different strains effect you before consuming your typical quantities.
Harelquin is one of the few CBD rich strains out there and it's effects have been praised by thousands. That is why, we make it the Seniors MMJ Network 2015 choice for medicating on 4/20. Enjoy responsibly!
