One of the oldest and most valuable cookbooks to have around for the Medical Marijuana user has always been The Stoners Cookbook.

Despite the cliche' "Stoners" reference, this collection of recipes has been the launching point into infused (with marijuana) foods for thousands.

Now, in the digital age, the recipe options continue to grow. We're fond of the work they are doing, the recipes and directions they have provided but we really appreciate that anyone can go to their website and download a free copy of the cookbook.

Below is an email that was recently shared with me from the CEO of The Stoners Cookbook. You'll also find links to their website and Facebook page at the end of the email. Enjoy and get baking!

How to make Canna-butter - http://goo.gl/2AB86T

A good friend of mine, Jennifer, reached out to me a couple days ago. Jennifer's mom, Stacy, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 9 years ago. Due to the chemo Stacy suffers from insomnia (often staying awake for 35+ hours at a time) along with painful side effects of cancer.

Jennifer came across TheStonersCookbook.com and was wondering if the recipes could relieve some of the symptoms of chemotherapy and cancer.

I got on the phone with Jennifer right away and wanted to help. We spoke about the medical benefits of cannabis (pain relief, helps with sleep, CBD stops the spread of cancer). Jennifer left the conversation inspired and eager to make edibles for her mother – and for herself of course!

That weekend Jennifer made this lollipop recipe for her mother:

Ingredients

1/4 cup canna butter

1/2 cup light corn syrup

3/4 cup sugar

And a few drops of food coloring

Lollipop sticks

Lightly greased cookie sheet

1 quart pan and candy thermometer

Directions

  • Add butter, syrup and sugar together in 1-quart sauce pan.

  • Boil ingredients to 270 degrees fahrenheit and check temperature with candy thermometer.

  • Once at 270 add food coloring and turn down heat. Layout lollipop sticks on greased cookie sheet leaving room to pour suckers onto them.

  • You can make the suckers as big or small as you want just be careful how much you eat ;)

Be careful! The boiling sucker mix hardens pretty fast so have everything ready.

Number of Servings: 20-25

On Sunday evening I got an email from Jennifer. Here's an excerpt from the email:

"We made a watermelon and lemon flavor. They turned out good and worked for my mom really good as she slept through the night only waking up once. When she is on chemotherapy she has insomnia really bad and sleeping pills don't help. My dad usually doesn't sleep either because a herniated disc in his lower back causes him so much pain. He slept 5 hours for the first time in a long time! So in the end my mom loves the recipe.

Thank you so much your website and all the recipes. The candy hit my mom very quickly and seeing her get relief from the chemo and the cancer pain was awesome. For the first time in a long time I watched all the sadness and anger disappear and she was happy, laughing and joking around. It really has made a difference for her."

I find this story super inspiring and wanted to share it with you. I always strive to give you the best content so you can feel good and be happy :)

Sincerely,

Matt Gray
